My Story & Background

I was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2002, and grew up in a community called Hammonds Plains, in a family of 6 with 2 younger sisters and a younger brother. My father worked as software systems analyst consultant, and my mother as a change management consultant. I attended ... Charles P. Allen High School in Bedford, Nova Scotia, and graduated in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a kid i loved playing sport, particularly hockey, baseball and football for my highschool team in grade 11 and 12.

I attended Acadia University from 2020-2025, and obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration, spending my last two years pursuing a major in Business Technology Management and a Minor in Computer Science. Ever since I was roughly 13 years old, I had wanted to pursue a career in mechanical engineer. I spent a great deal of my free time working on projects of various sorts, building and soldering electrical circuitry and finding ways to construct functional bodies/housing for the electrical and mechanical components of my projects (ex: In grade 8 I built a homemade "Iron Man" suit..). While i graduated grade 10 with high honors, my tendencies as a social-being along with playing sports subconsciously took priority, and my grades for the remainder of High School weren't sufficient for mechanical engineering programs. I ended up opting for a career in business, being accepted to a handful of universities in Nova Scotia, finally choosing Acadia because it was about an hour from my childhood home and gave me a chance to develop independently away from my family while still being close enough to make the trip home when necessary. This was an important factor because family is invaluable to me above all else.

With business being my plan-b, I was initially unsure as to where I wanted to fit into the industry when I started my studies at Acadia. When the time had come to declare my major, I was at a cross roads between the various options the business school offered. Subconsciously, over my first few years studying at Acadia, i'd become enamoured by the ever-changing landscape of AI and how it was shaping business with the emergence of AI, ML, and GPT's. At the time, ChatGPT had just coming out, spiking my interest in the potential of this technology and the implications of it's use in organization processes. I could picture a future where businesses put significant resources into integrating and managing AI technology, and the relationship human-employees have with it. I decided this would be a great niche in the field of business to fit myself into. My school was offering a relatively new major called Business Technology Management which was the perfect avenue to position myself to manage this business-AI relationship. In the beginning of my studies for my major, I spent the majority of my time taking courses pertaining to the business side of the degree, with the odd computer science class. Not until my last year at Acadia did I completely immerse myself into computer science, opting for a course load mainly comprised of computer science courses, leading me to pursue a minor in computer science.

I graduated from Acadia in the spring of 2025, and that brings me to where I am now. I am eager to continue to build my skills and experience, and proceed to learn and grow with the industry as new technology and research develops, and shaped the fundamentals of how people and organizations do business.
